Never thought we’d be here Was no end in sight I’d say this is a dark day Feels more like a night
If there be a morning Might look different then Doubt this is the end But I only know beginnings
I could move up to the mountains See how lonely I can get Hasn’t happened yet I could move up to the mountains
Never thought we’d be here Was no end in sight I’d say this is a dark day Feels more like a night
I could move down to the ocean See if I get washed away Bottle up my letters I could move down to the ocean
Never thought we’d be here Was no end in sight I’d say this is a dark day Feels more like a night

You're the University of Texas!
You claim to be bigger and better than your peers, and you're definitely bigger. A whole lot bigger. Your size is intimidating to some and a sign of weakness to others. But you often disregard others' opinions, as evidenced by your flaunting of that shade of orange. You regularly watch that funky PBS music show, "Austin City Limits". In situations of extreme peer pressure, you've been known to discuss the matter of whether horses can fly.
Take the University Quiz at the Blue Pyramid.

| Summer update sent to law school classmates: |
[25 Jun 2007|01:09pm] |
Dallas is 88 degrees and 60% humidity. Lots of recent rain and very green. Glad I don't wear a suit jacket most days. $2.00 drafts. Ozone warnings. I don't have many high school friends around, but am really enjoying family time. Have only been out on the lake once but am looking forward to going to Gull Lake in Northern Minnesota with my family at the end of July. Patrick is doing a marketing internship with Symantec in San Jose. I need a kielbasa, a pilsner, and teleportation to our biergarten in Prague. I'm interning two days a week with Federal Magistrate Judge Paul Stickney (Northern District of TX.) Generally they handle whatever the District Court judges give them, including accepting pleas, discovery disputes, and detention hearings. I'm working on a memo for a Social Security claim appeal. I have not seen the impartial issuance of a warrant yet, but I doubt he would invite me into his office for that. There are some interesting matters going on this summer, including the trials of a TX-based organization accused of funding Hamas, an insurance fraud ring of Romanians and Vietnamese accused of staging late-night car wrecks to defraud insurers, and an ex-Dallas police officer who may have known his wife was dealing drogas and falsifying a US Pasaporte. I'm working three days a week with a real estate law firm called Barrett Burke. I work on CA foreclosures which are delayed and complicated by the borrower or a junior lien holder filing bankruptcy, or because title to the property is not clear. Junior just means that their lien is lower in priority than the first mortgage, so if the property gets sold they'll be paid second, third, or not at all. I guess these junior lien holders are folding all the time. I'm glad to be doing CA work. I will need housing when we start school so please let me know if you hear of ANYTHING in San Francisco. Looking forward to seeing you all in Negotiation, Interpersonal Dynamics for Attorneys, ADR, and Business Ethics.

I want to make a t shirt with a number on the back and a nickname, suggesting that I was on a fun team that played at night and went for beer afterward.

Is anyone annoyed by some of the current fashion trends? I have seen about 3 girls who can pull this crap off. Skinny jeans, pointy flats, and vests are the most offensive items to me... Please weigh in on this...

Hello everyone. I missed ol' Livejournal. And when I saw quinnqueasy's dream recounted today I felt like I should get back in the game.

| What's your sandwich? |
[01 Nov 2005|01:07pm] |
FROM QUINNQUEASY, MY DELI PARTNER:
Have you ever been to one of those NY or LA Deli's where they name sandwiches after famous people who have dined there? Well, I'm going to open a livejournal deli (maybe a real one, too) where the sandwiches are named after my friends. So, what's your sandwich? It can contain any ingredient within reason that you might find at a gourmet deli (no spider guts or goblin toes).
The quinnqueasy: Thinly sliced Molinari Salame, Gruyere Cheese and pesto on rosemary focaccia bread. Grilled and served hot.
The sarahreddick: Turkey breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado with herbed mayonaise on focaccia.
C'mon. What's your sandwich?

Name five (5) things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make your list, post it in your journal, then tag five (5) new people and ask them to post it to theirs:
1. yoga 2. sorting out clutter 3. looking at the moon 4. food prep 5. singing

I don't like having to say "Troy," "rural" or "Marlboro" for the same reason.

Last night I did some substantial reorganizing of furniture in our house. If quinnqueasy was in town, he would've wanted to "make a plan" or "draw a diagram". But f that. I gotsta move! And I talked to gtbacchus for an hour and a half. This is the third long conversation in as many days with people very close to my boy. (including guavalicious) I hope he doesn't think it's a conspiracy... but why wouldn't I love the folks he does?

The symphony was great! The pianist, Shai Wosner, especially. Such a delicate touch. The program was accessible, and never dragged. Very enjoyable. Especially since we weren't paying. On Saturday I went "out with the girls" for Indian food at Naan & Curry. And then I stank. And then quinnqueasy and I watched our girlfriend Paris on SNL. Yesterday I did the beer part of watching the Super Bowl, and was mildly aware that it was on.

[04 Feb 2005|09:58am] |
One of the lawyers I work with has given quinnqueasy and me San Francisco Symphony Tickets for tonight. They are Premier Orchestra seats, right up front. This is especially exciting because we probably wouldn't choose to treat ourselves in this way. It's also exciting for me to feel tapped in or favored, and be the one he thought of to pass the tickets to. When he handed them over he said "Use these wisely..." and I replied "You mean don't fall asleep?"
The program:
Haydn Symphony No. 82, The Bear Mozart Rondo in D major for Piano and Orchestra Chopin Variations on Là ci darem la mano Mozart Symphony No. 40
